Charlotte financial experts explore how finance is rooted in the humanities and culture. How does history, philosophy, and literature inform investing? How do the humanities have value in today’s banking world? Is money a form of poetry? What big questions are at the heart of finance and the human experience? Join in on the conversation!
Our Panelists:
Marcia Dawood is Venture Partner at Mindshift Capital and a member of Golden Seeds, one of the largest angel groups in the U.S. She is Chair Emeritus of the Angel Capital Association, the global professional society of angel investors. Marcia is also an advisor to the SEC on small business capital formation. A TEDx speaker and host of the Angel Next Door podcast, Marcia received her MBA from the UNC Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
Ashley D. Varnado is Managing Director, Wealth Management & Philanthropic Market at Bank of America Private Bank. She is responsible for the investment management and retention of $12B in philanthropic assets across 12 markets, working closely with philanthropic families and nonprofit institutions. Ashley received her MBA from Mississippi State University.
Brandon Zeigler is an Angel Investor and founder & Managing Partner at Zeigler Holdings. He previously served as director of impact investments at Global Endowment Management. Brandon received his MBA from Northwestern University and Masters of Education from Harvard University.
Sarah K. Charles is founder & Managing Principal at Sanctuary Financial Planning. She previously served for twenty years in wealth advisory firms. She is past board president of Leadership Charlotte. Sarah earned a degree in economics from Duke University.
