How Do the Humanities Shape the World? 
Charlotte designers explore how humanistic inquiry leads to new modes of expression in design. What is human and humanity-centered design? How does history, philosophy, and literature inform design choices and trends? How does culture shape product and spatial design?  Join in on the conversation! 

Our Panelists:

Lila Allen is Senior Editor, AD PRO at Architectural Digest. She previously served as Managing Editor of Metropolis Magazine. Lila received an MFA in Design Research, Writing and Criticism from the School of Visual Arts.

Ashley Ross is founder and Principal Interior Designer at Muse Noire Interiors, dedicated to curating contemporary global homes that celebrate culture. Recently Ashley was named by Architectural Digest among 21 Black Women changing architecture and design. She received an MPA in Public Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield.

Carrie Renegar is Co-Studio Director, Senior Associate, and Design Director at Gensler. As a Design Director, she oversees design for regional and national projects, and as Studio Director, she focuses on project delivery, operations management, and employee mentorship. Carried received a Bachelors degree in Design from UNC Greensboro.

Chris Cureton is Principal and Vice President of Brand Design at BOLTGROUP, a design innovation firm. Chris leads all brand and digital initiatives, from research and strategy, through design and implementation. Chris received a degree in applied science in graphic design from the Art Institute of Charlotte.
