the time is now

We live in a time in which social trust and institutions are challenged. Our civic problem-solving mechanisms are being stressed just as core civic concerns are becoming more complex. Our programming seeks to strengthen civic bonds and spur innovation by connecting the spirit of the humanities with the civic enterprise.

The Charlotte Center for the Humanities & Civic Imagination’s delivers a different kind of conversation in Charlotte, one that is hopeful and soulful, that grows social trust and civility. It engages curious and civic-minded residents in the Charlotte community through interactive dialogue and an exchange of ideas that inform, inspire, and ignite positive change.

this is the power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful: in a word, more alive.
